Purpose of the policy

Babywearing Ireland (BWI) ("we", "us" or "our") is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy under Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)). This Data Protection Notice tells you about your privacy rights and sets out how we, as a Controller, collect, use, process and disclose your personal data relating to your interactions with us. It sets out our position in respect of the principle that data not be retained for longer than reasonably necessary as outlined under Article 5 of the GDPR:

  • Art 5(c) Data Minimisation: personal data shall be ‘adequate, relevant and limited to what is necessary in relation to the purposes for which they are processed'.

  • Art 5(e) Storage Limitation: personal data shall be ‘kept in a form which permits identification of data subjects for no longer than is necessary for the purposes for which the personal data are processed’.

Information we may collect from you

Personal data means any information about an individual from which that person can be identified. It does not include data where the identity has been removed (anonymous data). We may collect and process any type of personal data you provide to us in the course of your interactions with us. You may have provided some of your personal data directly to us such as when you visited our website by volunteering personal data when subscribing to email alerts or by using our online feedback or other forms. We may also receive personal data about you from various third parties and public sources such as Google searches, Facebook or Instagram or LinkedIn. Keeping your personal data secure

BWI operates and uses appropriate technical and physical security measures to protect your personal data.

We have in particular taken appropriate security measures to protect any personal data held by BWI from accidental or unlawful destruction, loss or alteration, and from unauthorised disclosure or access. Access to your personal data is only granted on a need-to-know basis to those people within BWI whose roles require them to process your personal data and, in certain circumstances, to third parties.

Payments are processed through secure third party payment processors. We do not store or have access to your full payment details.
