Babywearing is a wonderful practice— and like all parenting tools, it comes with simple guidelines to keep you and your baby safe and comfortable

If you have any questions— fit checks, carrier advice, or anything else — you can ask our community of 9.6k users on our sling chat Facebook page. We're always happy to help.

Key safety tips

⚠️ Airways First — Always Visible, Always Clear

  • Face visible at all times

  • Chin off chest (room for a finger)

  • Nose & mouth completely clear

  • Baby worn high and close (kissable head)

  • Check position frequently, especially when asleep

🌡 Keep Cool & Comfortable

  • Dress in light layers

  • Remember: you share body heat

  • Check back of neck or chest for temperature

  • Use breathable fabrics & shade in warm weather, avoid bulky coats or snowsuits in cold weather.

👶 Follow Baby’s Cues

  • No set time limit, but take regular breaks

  • Allow time for feeds, changes, stretching

  • Watch for early hunger or tired signs

⚠️Sling = Your Arms

  • Don’t do anything you wouldn’t do holding baby.

  • Avoid hot drinks, cooking, or risky movement.

📋Use Your Carrier Correctly

  • Follow weight & age guidelines

  • Use inserts if required

  • Ensure a secure, well-supported fit
